Spring Babe Ruth tryouts for my two boys this morning.
Weather conditions: Beating Rain
Field condition: Hog Wallow
The kids seem excited.
Cold, wet, and muddy. No better conditions for competition, in my book. Good luck to the boys!
Damn straight! Back in my NE Seattle little league football days our field was a former truck farm that had decades of manure mixed in with the mud.
I loved the smell of manure in the morning, it reminded me of…well, it reminded me of cow shit as we were rarely victorious but you get the picture.
Ah yes, I washed those football uniforms and remember the smell of manure in the morning very well. Happily everything that goes around comes around again. A mother’s revenge.
